About Braintree Park
Local shops cater for everyday needs and a regular bus service is available from the front of the park which takes residents into Colchester or to Chelmsford, each of which offers good shopping facilities.
Braintree has many amenities, including its own museum, a cinema, a bowling alley and several restaurants. The Braintree and Bocking annual carnival takes place each year in June, which includes a procession of floats, a fair and
sideshows.
Situated in the rolling countryside of North Essex, the Braintree District is perfectly placed to explore the highways and quiet byways of the county. There are many nature reserves, parks, published walks and rides throughout the district, for walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike.
The area is well served by a number of main roads which allow easy access to the port of Harwich and to Stansted Airport. Those needing to commute to other towns as well as to London can do so by train, as the station is within easy walking distance of the park.
