Situated in the magnificent Cotswold Water Park, St Johns Priory Park is in an excellent location close to the banks of the River Thames. The park is well established and has been developed over many years to a good standard. It is a friendly park that has an endearing sense of community, with some residents having lived there for over 25 years.

Surrounding area


Just across the road from the park is the famous Trout Inn, which is an ideal spot from which to watch the riverboats passing to and fro. The village of Lechlade is less than a mile away and within easy walking distance. It has all the amenities expected of a bustling Cotswold village including a post office, small supermarket, library, doctors and dentists. St Lawrence church, completed in 1476, is on the edge of the market square in Lechlade and can be seen from St Johns Priory Park.

There are many historic Cotswold towns within easy driving distance of the park, including Burford, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water (known as the Venice of the Cotswolds) and Cheltenham (famous for its horse racing). The Cotswold Water Park also offers many varied attractions including river boating, sailing, fishing and even a bathing beach!

Transport


A local bus service is in daily operation (except Sundays) from outside the park entrance to Faringdon, Cirencester and Swindon. Swindon Railway Station is on the mainline route between Paddington and Swansea and local route between Oxford and Cheltenham. Lechlade village is within easy walking distance of the park.

Driving Directions


Take junction 15 off the M4 on to the A419 towards Cirencester. Then take the A361 signposted to Burford and Lechlade and follow the signs through Highworth towards Lechlade. Alternatively, take junction 8 off the M40 (onto the A40) and then take the A361 signposted Lechlade. Once in Lechlade, take the A417/St Johns Street towards Faringdon. The park will be on your left hand side approximately half a mile outside the village.
